How to create a public link on a Confluence page and share it with anyone
Step 1
In the top right of a Confluence page select, ‘Share’ while in published mode.
Note: an administrator must first allow public links in the space. See FAQs below.
Step 2
Select ‘Public link’.
Step 3
Enable public links by clicking on the toggle button.
It is off by default on all pages, even when public links are allowed in the space.
Step 4
Copy the new public link and share it. Anyone with the URL (direct link) can view the page.

Who can see Confluence pages with a public link?
Anyone with a public link URL can view the page. But they cannot edit the page, only view.
How does Confluence licensing work with public pages?
No additional licenses required.
The page becomes accessible to anyone on the internet with the public link URL to the page but is not indexed by search engines.
Does a viewer of a Confluence page with a public link have to sign-in?
No sign-in required. It is a public page (not indexed by search engines).
Can we deactivate (turn off) public links on some spaces?
Yes. Public links are optional and are controlled on a space-by-space basis.

What can public link visitors see and do?
In simple terms, when someone visits a Confluence page using a public link you can only view the page.
But there are some exceptions, like an embedded form to submit information.
Can someone use a search engine like Google to find a public link?
Search engines are told to not index Confluence pages with public links enabled.
Do not use public links for highly sensitive content.
I don't see a 'Public link' option what do I do?
Ask your administrator to allow public links in the space with the page you want to share as a public link.
Public links are enabled on a space-by-space basis by administrators. Until this happens no user will have the option to create a public link.

Positive: option to allow them to edit a page.
Negative: must have access to the entire space.
